Woableza Otipi Project (The place of understanding the people)
Oyate Woableza Otipi Project will develop and implement two new loan products customized
to fit community needs to be offered by Lakota Funds in
2006. The project will develop and improve Lakota Funds
loan and investment policies, and improve the overall lending
process.
OWOP will move the Lakota Funds to a new organizational level and significantly
enhance the group's ability to facilitate social and economic
development on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
Successful implementation of OWOP will result in the accomplishment of many of the
five year goals outlined in Lakota Funds community plan,
Lakota Vision 2020.
The project will substantially increase Lakota Funds ability
to carry out its five year customer goals:
- 1,000 business consultations
- 75 business start ups
- 75 business expansions
- 300 business owners and staff
trained
- Network with 25 professional Technical Assistance
Providers
The Oyate Woableza Otipi Project will create Lakota Funds
partnerships to mentor business expansion, including lending,
technical assistance and other resources.
