Kateri Montileaux earned a Bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College in 1997 where she doubled majored in Business and Office Management. Kateri is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and has lived on the Pine Ridge reservation for most of her life. She is a certified VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Professional) volunteer and is twenty two graduate hours into a MSIS degree from Dakota State University. Prior to joining the Lakota Funds team, Kateri was at Oglala Lakota College for almost eleven years where she was the Financial Aid Officer and an Adjunct Faculty member.

Kateri has a strong desire to assist the youth through education and her tiospaye through community development and socioeconomic sustainability. Kateri credits her parents Francis Sr. and Anne Montileaux for encouraging all their children to complete their higher education in order to succeed at anything they try in life.
