Spotted Eagle and Lakota Funds

Spotted Eagle Enterprises was established by Roselyn Spotted Eagle who has been working with Lakota Funds for seventeen years. Roselyn gave Lakota Funds another opportunity to help with the purchase of her catering van. Spotted Eagle Enterprises provides catering, star quilts, loom and quill work, with other projects Roselyn is ready to provide. Operating her own business helps Roselyn support her family, which includes her great granddaughter she has been caring for. Lakota Funds intitially provided training on business terms and other topics to help her run her enterprise and get on her own. Roselyn stated "One of my goals was to make it where I would be busy all the time. Today I am there." Spotted Eagle Enterprises is thriving with her local orders along with clients from New York, Minnesota, and Switzerland.

Entrepreneurs like Roselyn are offered Lakota Funds loan products here on the reservation. There are free classes offered: Core Four Business Planning, Financial Literacy, and Home Buyer Training just to name a few. Wawokiye Business Institute also has small business success coaches who assist future business owners like Roselyn with resources and technical assistance.
